The three security types
WPA/WPA2 is the most common standard on current networks. WEP is an older, less secure standard still used by some routers. "No password" generates a QR code for open networks, requiring no password to connect.
What marking the network as hidden means
If the network doesn't broadcast its name publicly (it's configured as hidden on the router), checking this option ensures the QR code includes that information, letting the phone find it even though it doesn't show up in the list of available networks.
